The Philippines Pesos is an interesting currency. It’s designed after the country’s national flag with a large triangle mimicing the flag’s white triangle, and the sun that is visible on the backside.
The redesign incorporates similar motifs, But I aimed to create a more subtle nod to the fla. I removed the sun and made the triangle leave the frame to the left. The currency is also vertical. The vertical design of the bill help creates a distinguishable hierarchy from top to bottom. And the most prevalent images and text were designed to guide the eyes down the paper. The redesign is meant to get maximum engagement from the viewer.
